Gifts from supporters are critical to sustaining ThreeSixty Journalism and ensure there are no barriers to participation. \nLast year’s Homecoming event: \n \nMore about our featured guests: \nAaliyah Demry (HOST) is a ThreeSixty program alum now working as a multimedia journalist at KTTC TV in Rochester\, where she covers southeast Minnesota and northwest Iowa communities. A graduate of St. Cloud State University (Mass Communication & Film Studies)\, Aaliyah has previously worked for Minnesota Public Radio News\, Twin Cities PBS\, and the Center for Broadcast Journalism. \nHannah Allam (AWARDEE & SPEAKER) is a ProPublica reporter covering national security\, with a focus on counterterrorism\, militant movements and political violence. She previously covered the same issues at the Washington Post\, where she was part of two Pulitzer-winning teams\, and at NPR\, where she reported live during the Jan. 6\, 2021\, attack on the U.S. Capitol. As a longtime foreign correspondent for McClatchy\, Allam served as bureau chief in Baghdad during the Iraq War and in Cairo during the Arab Spring rebellions. Her work in the Middle East was recognized by the George Polk Awards and the Overseas Press Club. She returned to the United States in 2012 and has reported extensively on U.S. foreign policy\, race and religion\, and the mainstreaming of extremist ideologies. Allam is a 1999 graduate of the University of Oklahoma\, where she was editor of the OU Daily student newspaper. While in college\, Allam interned at the Star Tribune. Her first job after graduation was covering Dakota County for the Pioneer Press. Allam was a 2009 Nieman fellow at Harvard and she serves on the board of the International Women’s Media Foundation. She lives in Washington with her family. \nGeorgia Fort (AWARDEE & SPEAKER) is a three-time Midwest Emmy Award-winning journalist and one of only two reporters who were in the courtroom for the sentencing of Derek Chauvin. Her mission as a storyteller is to change the narrative by amplifying truth\, elevating diverse sources\, and providing context around social justice issues. With over 15 years of experience working in commercial and nonprofit radio and television news\, Fort has distinguished herself as a thought leader in equitable journalism. In 2023\, she launched Here’s the Truth—an independently produced television news program that earned 12 Regional Emmy nominations and took home three wins. Her work has been recognized by the National Association for Women in Business\, the Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists\, and Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal\, which named her to its “40 Under 40” list. In 2022\, Fort founded the nonprofit Center for Broadcast Journalism to increase representation in media across Minnesota. \nAbout ThreeSixty Journalism \nThreeSixty Journalism equips young Minnesotans to be sense makers\, truth tellers\, and bridge builders for an equitable society through multimedia journalism. He is the first Hmong anchor ever at Fox 9 and currently the only one in the Twin Cities. Chenue has more than a decade of experience in TV news\, having worked in Oregon\, Virginia\, Georgia\, and Iowa before coming home. His reporting has won several awards and his anchoring has been Emmy-nominated. Throughout his career\, he has been an outspoken advocate for representation in journalism. In 2022\, the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) recognized Chenue with the national “Community Impact Award”. He is a big believer in mentorship and is always happy to work with journalism students. \nErnesto Londoño is a national correspondent at The New York Times\, where he has worked since 2014. He was born and raised in Colombia and has spent two decades covering some of the most important stories of his generation. He covered the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; the Arab Spring; served on the editorial board of The New York Times; and was the newspaper’s bureau chief in Brazil. \n  \nTatsha Robertson is editor in chief of The Root\, one of the nation’s preeminent digital media outlets for Black news\, politics\, culture and opinion. Mukhtar Ibrahim\, CEO and founder of the Sahan Journal will be honored with our “Widening the Circle Award.”   \nThe evening will be co-hosted by broadcaster and small business owner Sheletta Brundidge and ThreeSixty student Marquan Harper\, a senior at Twin Cities Academy.   \n\n5:00 p.m.  Doors Open\n5:30 p.m.  Social hour DJ’d by ThreeSixty student Everett Parker\n6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.   Program\n8:30 p.m.  Event Concludes \n\nAppetizers and one drink ticket are included with your registration.  \nThank you for your interest. Gifts from supporters are critical to sustaining ThreeSixty Journalism and they ensure there are no barriers to participation. \nHONORED GUESTS \nAdrienne Broaddus\nOpening Doors Awardee | Adrienne Broaddus  \nEmmy-award winning journalist Adrienne Broaddus has been a national correspondent since 2020—first with CNN and now with NBC News based in Chicago. Her reporting has included focuses on the COVID-crisis\, Black Maternal Health\, policing in America and the need for living organ donors. Before joining CNN in 2020\, Broaddus spent nearly seven years anchoring and reporting in Minneapolis at KARE-TV. While at KARE\, she was the first journalist to speak exclusively on camera with the 9-year-old who witnessed the killing of George Floyd\, and she was among the first reporters on the scene to report legendary singer Prince Rogers Nelson had died in 2016 and was invited to sit down and talk with his family members in an exclusive interview. Broaddus is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Journalism. She previously served as a board member for the Society of Professional Journalists Diversity Division. She is also a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority\, Incorporated. When not on assignment\, Broaddus spends time collecting greeting cards\, soul line dancing\, playing the piano and volunteering at her church\, New Life Covenant Southeast. She is an organ donation advocate.   \nMukhtar Ibrahim\nWidening the Circle Awardee | Mukhtar Ibrahim  \nMukhtar M. Ibrahim is the founder and CEO of Sahan Journal\, a nonprofit news organization that covers Minnesota’s immigrants and communities of color. He is passionate about using journalism to empower communities and build a more equitable\, informed\, and engaged society. Mukhtar is known for his leadership in promoting sustainable business models for journalism and his standing as a thought leader in the media industry. His leadership has been recognized with numerous awards\, including the Carnegie Corporation of New York’s Great Immigrant Award\, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal “40 Under 40”\, and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism’s First Decade Award. Mukhtar holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.  \n HOSTS\nSheletta Brundidge\nSheletta Brundidge  \nSheletta Brundidge is a small business owner. She founded her podcasting platform\, ShelettaMakesMeLaugh.com\, to spotlight and elevate Black voices. She now produces eleven popular weekly podcasts featuring Black subject experts and partners with businesses seeking to connect with Black audiences. As an advocate for other Black-owned small businesses\, Sheletta conceived and sponsored the first Black Entrepreneurs Day at the Capitol in February of 2023. A second event in 2024 brought hundreds back to the Capitol. For her efforts\, Sheletta has been honored by the National Small Business Association as an Advocate of the Year. She has also won a Women in Business Award from the Minneapolis St Paul Business Journal and was named Woman of the Year by USA Today. Sheletta is an Emmy Award-winning podcaster\, broadcaster and public speaker. The mother of four children\, including three with autism spectrum disorder\, she is the author of four best-selling children’s books about kids like her own.   \nMarquan Harper\nMarquan Harper  \nMarquan Harper\, a senior at Twin Cities Academy High School is a DJ and content creator from Saint Paul’s Frogtown neighborhood. With a passion for media\, he actively contributes to outlets like TPT – Twin Cities PBS\, and Minnesota Public Radio. He also serves as the Multimedia Specialist for his home church\, Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church. The CEO of Soledad O’Brien Productions\, O’Brien anchors and produces the Hearst Television political magazine program “Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien.” She also reports regularly for HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.” \nO’Brien has anchored shows on CNN\, MSNBC and NBC\, and hosted projects for Fox and A&E. She’s contributed to the three major broadcast networks\, Oxygen\, Nat Geo\, PBS NewsHour and WebMD. O’Brien was a special correspondent on Al Jazeera America’s  “America Tonight” and produced several documentaries on social issues for the network. \nRubén Rosario is a veteran newspaper journalist who wrote an award-winning column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press.  Born in San Juan\, Puerto Rico\, and raised in New York City\, Rosario spent 11 years as a staff writer for the New York Daily News\, covering some of the biggest and more notorious crime stories in the nation’s largest city. \nVineeta Sawkar\, our event host\, is an Emmy award-winning anchor and broadcast journalist. In 2022\, Sawkar became the first woman of color to host WCCO Radio’s drive-time morning show. She was a reporter\, weekend news anchor and morning news anchor at KSTP-TV during her almost 18 years at the station.
