DESCRIPTION:View the Homecoming 2023 FAQ. \nJoin us Saturday\, April 1\, 2023\, at Granada Theater in Uptown Minneapolis for our annual celebration and fundraiser\, ThreeSixty Journalism Homecoming. Journalist Soledad O’Brien will be awarded with ThreeSixty’s inaugural “Opening Doors Honor\,” which spotlights an influential leader who promotes opportunities and successes among diverse voices in media\, business\, or community. In addition\, legendary Pioneer Press columnist Rubén Rosario will be honored with our Widening the Circle Award. ThreeSixty Journalism Homecoming 2023 is hosted by WCCO radio’s Vineeta Sawkar. \n5:00 p.m. Doors Open\n5:30 p.m. Socializing\n6:30 p.m. Program\, hosted by Vineeta Sawkar and featuring Soledad O’Brien\n8:30 p.m. Event Concludes \nAppetizers and one drink ticket are included with your registration. \nThank you for your interest. Please join us in 2024! \nSoledad O’Brien\, our featured guest\, is an award-winning documentarian\, journalist\, speaker\, author and philanthropist. The CEO of Soledad O’Brien Productions\, O’Brien anchors and produces the Hearst Television political magazine program “Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien.” She also reports regularly for HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.” \nO’Brien has anchored shows on CNN\, MSNBC and NBC\, and hosted projects for Fox and A&E. She’s contributed to the three major broadcast networks\, Oxygen\, Nat Geo\, PBS NewsHour and WebMD. O’Brien was a special correspondent on Al Jazeera America’s  “America Tonight” and produced several documentaries on social issues for the network. \nRubén Rosario is a veteran newspaper journalist who wrote an award-winning column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press.  Born in San Juan\, Puerto Rico\, and raised in New York City\, Rosario spent 11 years as a staff writer for the New York Daily News\, covering some of the biggest and more notorious crime stories in the nation’s largest city. \nVineeta Sawkar\, our event host\, is an Emmy award-winning anchor and broadcast journalist. In 2022\, Sawkar became the first woman of color to host WCCO Radio’s drive-time morning show. She was a reporter\, weekend news anchor and morning news anchor at KSTP-TV during her almost 18 years at the station. Sawkar was also digital reporter with Star Tribune and director of public relations at St. Thomas. \nThreeSixty Journalism\, a nonprofit program of the College of Arts and Sciences\, empowers diverse students with valuable leadership and storytelling skills\, prepares them for college and career success and fosters more representative truth-telling. \nThank you ThreeSixty Journalism Homecoming 2023 sponsors!
