Laura Lee, a news anchor at KAAL-TV in Rochester, Minn., was awarded the ThreeSixty Scholarship in 2003. The University of St. Thomas grad joined the ABC affiliate in November 2010 as an evening reporter and has worked on stories about children’s cancer, Level III sex offenders, international adoption and education initiatives. Born and raised in Minneapolis, Laura has been nominated for an Emmy Award and earned a number of Associated Press Awards, including “Best Story” for her piece on an infant born with an incurable disease. “You can see a lot of people falling through the cracks and give up so easily because of finances. For me to have this scholarship take away a lot of those burdens, and a lot of those hardships and worries, gave me the freedom to really, really focus on studies, to really focus on the craft of writing and reporting.” To view Laura’s station profile, click here.
