News Team: Edited, Ready to Publish

Winter News team 2020 group
ThreeSixty Journalism News Team reporters strike a pose after finishing their Trailblazer assignments.

Eight ThreeSixty students finished their News Team articles Saturday, Feb. 1, at the University of St. Thomas College of Arts and Sciences.

With the help of professional editors, students were able to produce strong profiles and essays about trailblazers, which will appear in the April 2020 Magazine.

Students learned about why journalism matters, using the media mishaps in the reporting of Kobe Bryant’s death as a case study. Then, students brainstormed the stories they would like to see featured in ThreeSixty.

Students and parents also met with ThreeSixty scholars Danielle Wong, Zekriah Chaudhry and Kai Sanchez at ThreeSixty’s first Scholarship Day. Scholars talked about how the full-tuition ThreeSixty scholarship changed their lives and explained the application process to prospects.

Next up, we’re turning the classroom over to professionals for our Learning Labs series on Saturdays, Feb. 29, March 7 and 14.
