Sahan, MinnPost support ThreeSixty students to amplify expertise on ‘little, local’ opinion topics

November 2025 Pechulano Ngwe Ali 360 News, Opinion, Opinion Writing Workshop

Organized in partnership with Sahan Journal and MinnPost, the Opinion Writing Workshop brought 16 Minnesota high schoolers together for four days of writing.

Capitol reporting workshop elevates student leadership and tackles political drama

February 2025 Ayanna Melander 360 News, Capitol Reporting, News Team

Against a backdrop of political division and a snowstorm, 21 high school students from across the Twin Cities came together to cover news related to Minnesota’s 2025 legislative session in February.

Opinion: We are expected to pretend like yesterday didn’t happen

December 2025 Alexis Aryeequaye

After several high schools in Minnesota were closed yesterday because of a gun threat, classes have resumed. This shouldn’t be normal.

Opinion: Accessible education for all: the PSEO act as a model for preventing policy inequities

October 2025 Violet Ditlevson Opinion

Out-of-district courses are an opportunity for all students across Minnesota to have a right to access.

Opinion: St. Paul needs fresh leadership. Kaohly Her is the right choice for mayor

October 2025 Vincent Ledo Opinion

Kaohly Her can re-energize the city, tackle public safety and redevelopment more directly, and help residents feel seen again.

Opinion: Minnesota social studies standards lack critical thinking. Educators must be brave enough to remedy this

October 2025 Naomi Miller Opinion

Reading an outdated textbook and learning the Bill of Rights while my own rights slip away with every breaking headline feels pointless.

Opinion: Minnesota youth, we need to put our money where our values are

October 2025 Rahima Kawo Opinion

Minnesotan youth should step up, not step back, their commitment to boycotts. Some of my peers believe that their boycotting does not matter, because they are just one person boycotting. But history proves otherwise.

Opinion: Middle schoolers are struggling with addiction. They need help, not punishment

October 2025 Muhammad Memon Opinion

A punitive perspective on teen drug use misses the core issue: addiction is a public health crisis, not a simple disciplinary problem.

Opinion: ICE raids are tearing families apart. We can’t stay silent.

October 2025 Margarita Rosales Opinion

“Yo me voy con ustedes,” a classmate once told me. If my family gets deported, I’ll leave too.

Opinion: Fast fashion is destroying the planet. Thrifting locally and online can help fix it.

October 2025 Madeline Batalden Opinion

Buy a dress from an ethical local business and support fair labor.

Opinion: Trump’s defunding agenda hurts everyone, especially rural communities. Minnesota must protect rural schools.

October 2025 Lola Rohl Opinion

If federal cuts to education move forward, a generation of students in rural Minnesota could lose access to the quality education they need to prepare for the future.
