TV Camp: Learning From Pros

ThreeSixty TV Camp students started writing their packages with help from professional broadcast journalists.

ThreeSixty Journalism’s TV Camp is off to a start, as nine students worked side-by-side with professional reporting teams to produce their first video package at the University of St. Thomas College of Arts and Sciences.

On Monday students learned the elements of broadcast storytelling and put together a mini-package all before lunch. Campers are learning from 2016 ThreeSixty Scholar Danielle Wong who is leading the class.

Students received their assignments from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota Center for Prevention. The stories focus on health equity, specifically relating to physical activities in underrepresented communities.

Tuesday was a big day! Students met their sources and were supported by a reporting team from TV stations, including WCCO, FOX 9, KSTP, KARE 11, TPT, BMA Cable; the University of St. Thomas and the University of Minnesota Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
